Three snake houses

Not only did architects Luís Rebelo de Andrade and Tiago Rebelo de Andrade take on the project of Pedras Salgadas Park, they also created modular tree houses slithering through the trees like snakes.

Developed in partnership with the Modular System Company, the ‘Tree Snake Houses’ were developed to fit into their surrounding habitat in an unobtrusive way, giving the impression of slithering around trees. “Like a wild animal in its natural habitat, the house suddenly appears in the visual field of the observer,” explain the architects. Constructed from native raw material, slate and wood, sustainability was a top priority in the project.
